Our goal from the beginning has been the introduction and incorporation of different plant species and varieties into the local landscape. We continue to use a wide selection of plant material that includes cutting-edge material, four-season plants and even old-fashioned varieties that often are overlooked in today's modern landscape.
It is our practice to involve the consumer in the design process in hopes that they will take an interest in a rewarding and personal investment. Through continued research, education and networking, we keep our commitment to strive for an alternative to what so many have grown accustomed.
Thanks for giving us a look!
Windsor Garden Design was originally formed in 1997 by George and Diane Balthaser at their original location on Windsor Street in Reading's Historic district. From 1994 through 1999, George studied extensively at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, where he remains actively involved. It was also during this time that he studied at various arboretums and botanical gardens throughout the Philadelphia and New York regions. In the summer of 1998, he spent an extended period of time studying design under landscape architect and former University of Kansas professor Mike Lin, in Manhattan, Kansas. In 2000, Windsor Garden Design was incorporated and relocated to Exeter Township to accommodate growth. George's curiosity and passion for different plants continues to take him to botanical gardens and universities throughout North America, Europe and Northern Africa. Even now, he remains an avid plant enthusiast as well as a home gardener. Most of the year he can be found working in his own garden landscape and trialing new plants in hopes of using them for future projects.
